THE VALLEY — After a pair of NTL golf matches kicked off the 2026-27 sports year, it picks up steam with STAC boys golf, a pair of Pa. football games, and a volleyball tournament adding to this week's slate of action.

There are six events on this week's slate, including two each on Wednesday and Friday.

WEDNESDAY (2)
•  The Waverly boys open the golf season at Owego.

•  The Club at Shepard Hills hosts Athens, Sayre, and the rest of the NTL for its third league match of the season.

THURSDAY (1)
•  Waverly boys golf plays its first home match of the season, hosting Oneonta at The Club at Shepard Hills.

FRIDAY (2)
•  Sayre opens the 2026 football season at home against Towanda.

•  Athens opens the 2026 football season on the road at Wyalusing.

SATURDAY (1)
•  Athens and Sayre will be in action at the annual Williamson Tournament.
