NTL CROSS COUNTRY: SAYRE'S CONDON RECORDS TOP-10 FINISH IN FIRST VARSITY RACE (September 2, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportWYALUSING — Sayre had just two runners — one varsity and one junior high — in action here Tuesday in a tri-meet against Wyalusing and Sullivan County.
Freshman Caleb Condon, running in his first varsity meet, placed ninth in the boys race in a time of 20:45.
"Since Caleb is a dual-sport athlete, he is just getting used to running cross country," said Sayre coach Doug Ault. "I am excited with his time and place, and to see how this season will play out him."
Jake Johnson finished 11th in the junior high race in a time of 17:00.
"Jake has been working hard, doing extra workouts, and he has improved his time already in the first meet," said Ault.
Sullivan County won the boys race, while Wyalusing captured the girls race.
Sayre returns to action Tuesday at North Penn-Mansfield.
