Athens senior Connor Davidson accounted for five TDs in leading the Wildcats to a Week 1 win, while Wellsboro junior Amanda Goncalves was 3-0 in first singles, and Troy junior Haidyn Watson led the Trojans to the Williamson Tournament on the volleyball hardwoods.They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Aug. 29.

ATHENS' DAVIDSON NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK" 
Davidson completed nine of 10 passes for 97 yards and four TDs in a 44-0 win over Wyalusing.

He also ran the ball five times for 98 yards, and returned a punt 51 yards for a score. He also had two tackles, including one solo stop on defense.

TROY'S WATSON, WELLSBORO GONCALVES NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK" 
Goncalves was perfect on the week in first singles for the Lady Hornets.

She won 6-2 and 6-0 in a 5-0 win over Towanda, then 6-1 and 6-0 in a 5-0 win over Bucktail, and 6-1 and 6-1 in a 4-1 loss to Montgomery.

Watson had 47 kills, 41 digs, and seven aces for the Trojans, who went 7-2 in pool play, then beat Coudersport and Williamson in bracket play.
