NTL CROSS COUNTRY: NP-MANSFIELD BOYS, GIRLS EARN WINS ATHENS, SAYRE (11 PHOTOS) (September 8, 2026)

MANSFIELD — North Penn-Mansfield picked up wins over Athens and short-handed Sayre here Tuesday afternoon in NTL boys and girls cross country action.

BOYS
North Penn-Mansfield 26, Athens 30
Juniors Jacob Shores and Matthew Rossettie finished 2-3, but NP-M used superior depth to pull out a 26-30 win.

Shores crossed the finish line in 18:51, and Rossetti clocked in at 19:01.

Freshman Caleb Condon, Sayre's only varsity runner, placed fifth in a time of 20:36, while Athens senior Corbin Smith was sixth in 20:52.

Micah Simwale was 10th for the Wildcats in 24:11, while Austin Nason (25:01) and Alex Stedge (25:29) were 12th and 13th, respectively.

Gabriel Sen (30:21), Camden Knapp (31:34), and Derius Miller (31:41) finished 15th through 17th, respectively, for the Wildcats.

GIRLS
North Penn-Mansfield 17, Athens 38
Mansfield ran to the top four spots in a 17-38 win over Athens.

Paisley Smith finished fifth in a time of 28:03 for the Wildcats, while Katyayini Kinthala was sixth in 30:27, Tatyana Nasser was eighth in 32:08, and Hayley Horton was ninth in 33:28.

Athens will return to action Saturday at the Forbes Invitational in Oneonta.
