VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: ATHENS' DAVIDSON, NICHOLS, WAVERLY'S ATANASOFF NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (September 14, 2026)

THE VALLEY — Senior Connor Davidson had another monster game to lead Athens to a gridiron win, while Waverly sophomore Megan Atanasoff was the MVP of the Wolverine Invite, and senior Brinley Nichols led the the Athens girls to a pair of wins on the soccer pitch. They are the VSR / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Sept. 12.

ATHENS' DAVIDSON NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Davidson accounted for six TDs in Athens' 49-13 win over Cowanesque Valley Friday night.

Davidson rushed for 190 yards and three TDs on 15 carries, scoring on runs of 6, 58, and 1 yards.

Davidson also completed 7 of 13 passes for 76 yards and three TDs — all to different receivers. The TD passes were for 9, 27, and 4 yards.

WAVERLY'S ATANASOFF, ATHENS' NICHOLS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Atanasoff won the 50-yard freestyle in a state-qualifying time of 24.49 seconds on Saturday, besting the state cut of 24.84 seconds.

Atanasoff also swam on three first-place relays, swimming the fastest 100-yard freestyle time (54.65 seconds) in the lead-off leg of the 400 free relay. 

She also swam a personal-best split in the 200 medley relay, and swam a 24.65-second split in her 50 in the 200 free relay.

Nichols scored five goals and dished out two assists in the Wildcats' 15-3 win over Williamson on Wednesday.

Nichols doled out two assists in the Wildcats 2-1 win over Towanda Saturday.
