ATHENS — Athens cruised to a three-set sweep of Cowanesque Valley here Tuesday night in NTL volleyball action

The Wildcats, now 5-2, won by scores of 25-10, 25-10, and 25-11.

"It was a wonderful team effort tonight," said Athens coach Heather Darrow. "The girls looked strong and played very well. 

"I loved watching Meg Wiles take charge and talk to her hitters after every play so everyone was focused on what's happening next. 

"We kept our energy high all night and played as a team cheering each other on and supporting each other," added Darrow.

Senior Meg Wiles led Athens with 10 service points and 28 setter assists, while freshman Evelyn Roy had 12 points, including nine service aces, eight kills, and four digs, and sophomore Kayla Forbes had 11 points, including four aces, and 11 digs.

Junior Ellie Mosher had seven points (three aces), nine kills, and four digs in the win, while junior Lainey Vosburgh had four points and four digs, senior Hannah Parrish had three points (two aces) and six kills,  and freshman Emi McQuay chipped in with three kills.

Athens returns to action Thursday when it hosts Williamson.
