IAC GIRLS SOCCER: TIOGA UPENDS MORAVIA, 4-3, IN DOUBLE-OVERTIME CLASSIC (September 23, 2026)

MORAVIA — Addy Landmesser scored midway through the second overtime period to lift Tioga to a 4-3 win over Moravia here Wednesday afternoon in IAC Small School crossover girls soccer action.

"Moravia had the advantage stat-wise offensively, but we have what I see often in NHL hockey, an all-star goalie who can keep you in any game," said Tioga coach Jim Walsh. "Marcy Moniz once again played that part for us.

"It was an uplifting win," added Walsh. "We had no subs tonight, with three kids on the sidelines injured."

Tioga's Grace Howey and Moravia's Cece Stryker traded goals early in the game, and Howey gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead midway through the first half.

Mary van Dusen scored late in the half to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead heading into the halftime intermission.

Moravia's Madelyn Cara scored early in the second half to close the gap to 3-2, and Lily Heim converted a penalty kick with 6 minutes remaining in regulation to tie the game at 3-3.

Moravia had more chances in the final six minutes, and continued to barrage the Tioga goal with shots in the overtime.

Midway through the second overtime, Tioga center-defender Kaylah Nelson took the ball up the right sideline and forced a throw-in deep in Moravia territory.

Nelson's throw-in, over the head of teammate Carolina Rapp, was to the feet of Natalie Kemp, who served a pass to Landmesser at the far post, and she punched it into the goal for the game-winner.

Moravia had a 21-8 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.

Senior Marcy Moniz recorded 17 saves in net for the Tigers.

Tioga, now 4-3, returns to action Monday at Schuyler.
