NTL BOYS GOLF: OWEN LEADS ATHENS TO WIN AT END-OF-SEASON TOURNAMENT; SUBA PACES SAYRE (17 PHOTOS) (September 24, 2026)

MANSFIELD — Athens won the NTL End-of-Season Tournament by 1 stroke, but with its second-place finish Towanda claimed the regular-season championship here Thursday at Corey Creek Golf Course.

Towanda finished the regular season with a 33-2 league mark, while Athens was 30-4. Sayre finished the season at 3-32.

Junior Ty Owen earned low-medal honors Thursday with a 2-over par round of 74, and senior Eli Hicks shot an 80 to lead the Wildcats to a four-player aggregate score of 319.

Graham Welles and Boom Thompson shot 76 and 77, respectively, to lead Towanda to a 320 team score.

Senior Lucas Grenninger carded an 81 for Athens, and sophomore Jacob Saxon shot an 84.

Seniors Duncan Thetga and Collin Congdon added non-scoring rounds of 89 and 98, respectively, for the Wildcats.

Senior Rommel Suba led Sayre with a 92, while senior Shaine Strickland shot a 99, and freshman Kam Schrader carded a 104.

Sophomores Gabe WHeeler and Blake Zingeser each shot rounds of 112, and Caleb Grover added a non-scoring round of 118.

The District 4 Qualifier and District 4 Championships will beheld next week.
