IAC VOLLEYBALL: TIOGA RALLIES FOR FIVE-SET WIN OVER NEWARK VALLEY (14 PHOTOS) (September 24, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportNEWARK VALLEY — Tioga rallied from a 2-1 deficit to pull out a five-set thriller over Newark Valley here Thursday night in IAC volleyball action.
The Cardinals opened the night with a hard-fought, 27-25, win in the first set, but the Tigers bounced back with a 25-23 win in the second set to even the match.
Newark Valley won the third set, 25-21, but Tioga answered with wins of 25-22 and 15-8 to finish off the comeback win.
Courtney Smith led Tioga with 11 service points, including two aces, 12 kills, and four digs, while Jade Keaty recorded 11 points (two aces) and 14 digs, and Brianna Lounsbury had 10 points (two aces), five kills, and four digs.
Irie Lynch had eight points (three aces), 29 setter assist and nine digs in the win, while Vida Rossi had four points, eight kills, three blocks, and nine digs, Kate Kithcart had two points (two aces), five kills, and six digs, and Sadie Marshall and Kaylynne Miller recorded four and three digs, respectively.
Tioga, now 5-1, returns to action Wednesday at Lansing.
