VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: TIOGA'S BOMBARD, SAYRE'S MALANOSKI, ATHENS' LEZAK NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (September 28, 2026)

THE VALLEY — Tioga senior Jackson Bombard and Sayre senior Hudson Malanoski each accounted for three TDs in leading their teams to wins, while Athens junior Annika Lezak helped the Lady Wildcats to a pair of wins on the soccer pitch. They are the VSR / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Sept. 26.

TIOGA'S BOMBARD, SAYRE'S MALANOSKI NAMED BISHOP BROTHER CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Bombard accounted for three TDs in leading Tioga to a 34-21 comeback win over Trumansburg.

Bombard complete 9 of 13 passed for a career-high 192 yards and two TDs — passes of 45 and 18 yards. He also rushed for 58 yards on nine carries, including a 17-yard TD scamper.

Bombard also had nine tackles on defense. He was 4-for-5 kicking extra points.

Malanoski ran for 116 yards and three TDs on 22 carries in leading the Redskins to their second win in a row — their first two-game win streak since Weeks 6 and 7 of the 2021 season.

Malanoski also had two catches for nine yards, and was 5-for-5 kicking extra points.

Defensively, he had 14 tackles, including six solo stops.

ATHENS' LEZAK NAMED BISHOP BROTHER CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Lezak recorded 23 saves in helping Athens to a 2-1 week, including a win over Liverpool, Class AA (equivalent to big 4A PIAA school).

Lezak recorded four saves in a clean-sheet 2-0 win over Northeast Bradford on Thursday, and 13 saves in a 2-1 win over Liverpool Saturday.

On Tuesday, she had six saves in 2-1 loss to state-ranked Delaware Valley.
