NTL VOLLEYBALL: ATHENS BOUNCES BACK WITH SWEEP OF NORTHEAST BRADFORD (11 PHOTOS) (September 29, 2026)

ROME, Pa. — Athens bounced back from a tough loss at Wyalusing Saturday with a sweep of Northeast Bradford here Tuesday night in NTL volleyball action.

The Wildcats won by scores of 25-18, 25-18, and 25-13.

"The girls are happy with the win after Saturday," said Athens coach Heather Darrow. "They need to keep taking it one point at a time, and one skill at a time."

Senior Meg Wiles led Athens with 15 service points, including three aces, 17 setter assists, and six digs, while junior Lainey Vosburgh had 11 points, including a team-high seven aces, and four digs, and junior Ellie Mosher had seven points (four aces), a team-high nine kills, and five digs.

Sophomore Kayla Forbes had six points and a team-high 10 digs in the win, while senior Hannah Parrish had four points (two aces), three kills, and three digs, freshman Evelyn Roy had two points, two kills, and six digs, and junior Kendall Galasso had three points, two kills, and three digs.

Sophomore Emi McQuay added two kills and two digs for the Wildcats, and senior Emma Mallare chipped in with two blocks.

"Ellie Mosher and Hannah Parrish had some great shots tonight, and Kendall (Galasso) and Emi McQuay were solid in the middle," said Darrow. "Ev Roy had some big slams tonight ... Emma Mallare saw time in the right side and outside and Lainey Vosburgh did an outstanding job being versatile with me putting her in different positions tonight.

"The girls are being versatile it's awesome.

"Meg Wiles did great on defense," noted Darrow. "Kayla Forbes did not let a ball drop without effort, which gets the whole team moving. If she's giving it all they see it and will work harder," Darrow added.

The Athens coach said she saw some good things from her younger players as well.

"It was really awesome to get Sorana Marica in to get us some great passes," said Darrow. "Addi Moss, Lilli Miller and Jonica Walter's all got to see time, too.

"We will be needing them to be ready to go in the next battles we have coming up," added Darrow.

Athens, now 7-3, returns to action Tuesday at Troy, which it swept earlier in the season.

"We are seeing teams for the second time now and I know every team is working really hard just like our girls are," said Darrow. "The second part of the season is already here."
