STAC GIRLS TENNIS: OWEGO EDGES PAST WAVERLY, 4-3 (24 PHOTOS)(September 30, 2026) Valley Sports Report WAVERLY — Owego Free Academy survived a trio of forfeits by winning all four contested matches in a 4-3 victory over Waverly here Tuesday evening in STAC Central Division tennis action.
Merri Wescott and Jana Nikulich won the first and second singles matches for the River Hawks, who issued forfeits to the Wolverines in the third and fourth singles.
Shatha Alitabi and Emma Dixon swept Waverly's Melanie Bennett and Kendall Talada in the most competitive match of the day, 6-4 and 6-1, in first doubles.
Owego also swept the second doubles match, and Waverly received a forfeit in third doubles.
Waverly returns to action Wednesday at Johnson City.
