Valley Sports Report
MONGTOMERY — Senior Rommel Suba, junior Shaine Strickland, and freshman Kam Schrader each shot rounds of 87 here Wednesday at the District 4 Individual Qualifier to advance to next week's District 4, Class AA Championships.

The Sayre trio were among 20 golfers to shoot 88 or better at the par-72 White Deer Golf Course, and will play Thursday back at White Deer for a berth in the PIAA Championships.

"I am blown away by the drive these kids have and how far they’ve come from where they started," said Sayre coach Jon Roberts.

"Kam, Rommel and Shaine and the entire boys and girls golf team make me proud to be their coach.

"Coach Ron (Meyers) and I are excited to see how we can finish this season strong and continue to build a thriving golf program for Sayre," added Roberts.

Strickland shot a 41 on the front, and a 46 on the back nine, while Suba and Schrader each shot 43s on the front and 44 on the back.

Schrader scored the only birdie of the day for the Redskins, with a 4 on the 482-yard, par-5 eighth hole.

GIRLS
Junior Brooklyn Robert shot a 110, and senior Paige Secrist carded a 119 Wednesday at the District 4 Girls Golf Individual Qualifier at the White Deer Golf Course.

The only golfer to shoot 100 or better was Athens junior Annie Davis, who shot a 100.
