STAC VOLLEYBALL: WAVERLY DROPS FOUR-SETTER TO WYALUSING; SWEPT BY WINDSOR (October 3, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Waverly won the second set to pull even in the match, but Wyalusing pulled out close wins in the next two to win a 3-1 decision here Saturday in non-league volleyball action.
The Rams won the first set, 26-24, but the Wolverines answered with a 25-20 win. Wyalusing closed out the victory with wins of 25-22 and 25-23.
Freshman Meeya led Waverly with 32 setter assists and nine digs, while senior Ava Heath had a team-high 13 kills and 14 digs, and freshman Addison Foster registered eight kills and three blocks.
Freshman Layla Oeschlin recorded a team-high 18 digs for the Wolverines, while junior Kendall Rockwell had seven kills and a team-high four blocks, and sophomore Natasha Lane had 12 digs.
Junior Emmi Cole had nine digs for Waverly, while junior Emma Williams had five kills, and junior Lauryn Welles added four kills, and Teeter chipped in with two kills.
Waverly, now 6-5, returns to action Tuesday at Chenango Forks.
FRIDAYWindsor 25-25-25, Waverly 18-13-16At Windsor, the host Black Knights rolled to a sweep of Waverly, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-16.
Wheeler had nine assists and one block, and Rockwell registered six kills and one block to lead Waverly, while Heath had two kills and five digs, and Cole had two service aces and four digs.
Oeschlin had a team-high eight digs for the Wolverines, and Teeter added three digs.
