STAC VOLLEYBALL: WAVERLY SWEEPS FORKS; PUNCHES TICKET TO POSTSEASON FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2023 (October 6, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportBINGHAMTON — Waverly punched its ticket into the Section IV playoffs for the first time in three years here Tuesday night with a sweep of Chenango Forks.
The Wolverines swept their STAC Central Division foe by scores of 25-18, 25-14, and 25-14.
"I’m really proud of the girls, this has been our goal for the last few seasons and the girls put in the work in the offseason to make our goal a reality," said Waverly coach Hailee Rote.
"With five games still left on our schedule it’s a huge weight lifted, and we look forward to continue to improve this season," added Rote.
Freshman Meeya Wheeler had 13 setter assists, three kills, five service aces, and three digs, while senior Emma Richards-Randall had two kills, four aces, and four digs, and senior Ava Heath had three kills, one block, and six digs.
Sophomore Leraya Teeter had two aces and nine digs in the win, while junior Lauryn Welles registered four kills, freshman Layla Oeschlin added four digs and two aces, junior Elli Cole recorded six digs, junior Kendall Rockwell posted two blocks, and junior Emma Williams chipped in with three digs.
Waverly, now 7-5, returns to action Thursday when it hosts Owego.
