Elmira junior Noah Hughes had a big week to lead Elmira to a pair of lacrosse wins, while Wellsboro junior Piper Hoprich was unbeatable. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending April 5.

ELMIRA'S HUGHES NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM BOYS REGIONAL "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Hughes recorded 14 points — eight goals and six assists — to help the Express to wins over Whitney Point and U-E.

Hughes had a hat trick in a 6-3 win over Whitney Point Wednesday.

Hughes followed that up with five goals and six assists in a 17-3 win over U-E on Friday.

Honorable Mentions: Troy's Cameron Morey (track & field), Athens' Brendan Cooke (baseball), Wellsboro's David Seeling (track & field), and Cowanesque Valley's Lucas Hamilton (baseball).

WELLSBORO'S HOPRICH NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM GIRLS REGIONAL "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Hoprich earned seven wins on the week — four at a tri-meet and three more at the Molly Dry Invite.

Hoprich won the 100- and 200-meter dash, and was on the winning 400- and 1,600-meter relays in lead the Hornets to wins over Wyalusing and Troy on Tuesday.

On Thursday, won the 100- and 200-meter dashes, and was on the winning 400-meter relay as the Hornets finishes second at the Molly Dry Invite.

Honorable Mentions: Corning's Matti Johnston (softball), Waverly's Mackenzie Olmsted (flag football), Canton's Alexis McRoberts (track & field), NP-Liberty's Elyna Booth (softball), and Towanda's Leila Cobb (softball).
